The Bang & Olufsen Beosound 9000 Mk1 is a high-end, design-focused stereo speaker system produced by Bang & Olufsen. Here are some potential pros and cons of buying this speaker:
Pros:1. Superior Sound Quality: The Beosound 9000 Mk1 delivers an exceptional sound quality, with powerful bass, clear mid-range and detailed high frequencies. It utilizes a 3-way active system with a total power output of 600 watts dedicated to ensuring an immersive audio experience.
2. Distinctive Design: This speaker is known for its elegant and timeless design, which is a staple of Bang & Olufsen. With its modular, interchangeable grill options, it allows users to tailor the speaker's appearance to their personal preference.

4. Intuitive Control: The speaker comes with a sophisticated touch interface, which allows users to easily navigate and control playback features, volume, and sources.
5. Excellent Build Quality: This speaker is built with premium materials, and its robust and weather-resistant design ensures that it can withstand various environments making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Cons:1. Expensive: The Bang & Olufsen Beosound 9000 Mk1 is a premium stereo speaker, and its high price point might be a significant drawback for some buyers.
2. Large and Heavy: Weighing in at 24.3 lbs (11 kg) and measuring 19.7 x 11.8 x 9.1 inches (50 x 30 x 23 cm), this speaker is not a portable option and requires a dedicated space in your home.
3. Requires Assembly: The speaker arrives disassembled, meaning you'll need to put it together yourself. Bang & Olufsen provides an instruction manual and toolkit, but some users might prefer a more hassle-free setup experience.
4. Limited Wall Mounting Options: While the speaker has built-in mounting points, it lacks a dedicated wall mount, so users will need to purchase an additional MT1 bracket if they want to mount it on the wall.
Conclusion:The Bang & Olufsen Beosound 9000 Mk1 is a high-end, design-focused stereo speaker with outstanding sound quality and a wide array of connectivity options. Its eye-catching and customizable design, combined with its premium build quality, supports its premium price tag. However, factors like its large size, hefty weight, and expensive price point might deter some buyers. Ultimately, if you prioritize excellent sound quality, design aesthetics, and versatility, the Beosound 9000 Mk1 could be an excellent investment for you. However, if you're looking for a more affordable and portable alternative, there are other options on the market.
Recommendation:For those who appreciate outstanding sound quality, contemporary design, and robust connectivity in a high-end stereo speaker but don't want to spend as much as the Beosound 9000 Mk1 demands, alternatives such as the Sonos One SL, Sony SRS-NS7 Wireless Speaker, or the Apple HomePod Mini might be worth exploring. These speakers offer comparable or near-comparable sound quality, modular design, and connectivity options at a more affordable price point.
I purchased this unit 7 years ago from the original owner and as far know it is all no-one has ever messed with. This listing is for a Bang and Olufsen Beosound 9000 Type 2523 MK1 with power cord only, no other cables or accessories are included. I never bothered to try and address any of these cosmetic issues as thought they were reasonably insignificant to me. Cosmetically, the glass is clean and without any marks.
The next photo shows the other scratch. This does not include the small cover that goes over input/output cable section on bottom of unit. The top plate has a few minor marks that I've tried to capture. The CD sledge moves silently across all the CDs and plays without error.
The corners and edges of the top plate are straight clean. There are some subtle scuffs along the rear of unit in plastic housing. The first is a about the size of ballpoint pen tip. This unit works properly on all functions.
Next, there are a few CD slots with small chips along the front edge, seemingly from rough removal. The radio, aux, Master link, and IR all work correctly. I replaced it with a MK3 unit about 6 months later and its been stored ever since. Last, the are 2 scratches along right side of top plate, there photos these, first is hard to see but its left and slightly below mid-section photo.
Only the items shown in photos are included.
