Here is a super high-end legendary CD player from the golden age of Sony 1990 2000 when cost was no object in designing and building audio products. Thus this can be directly hooked up to a power amp, no pre-amp stage is required. This XA5 was a compromise in that it lacked the copper plated interior and used transformers which were not sealed. Then a heavy puck included and rare in of itself is loaded onto the CD to stabilize it.

This has the ground breaking CD drawer where entire drive extends from unit when loading. The black is very hard to find. This player dates from about 20 the very tail end of this era. This is the very last of line in high-end CD player reproduction CDP-XA5es model.

Comes with the puck and ORIGINAL remote volume control. The build quality, components chosen and fit finish on these model's was never matched again. No warranty for vintage units but guaranteed to work out of the box. It can be filled in with glue and painted black it would nearly like new again.
